Welcome to another collection of CD-quality sounds that you can listen to, use as system beeps, fill up unneeded RAM or disk space with, or whatever. Naturally, your Mac should have 16-bit sound hardware, and a connection to a decent amplifier and speakers, in order to hear them to full effect. Note that, since they were sampled at 44100 Hz and 16-bit quality, they are rather large—about four times the size of similar sounds sampled at more traditional Macintosh quality levels. For this reason, they are not stereo sounds—this would have made them twice the size again.
The musical motifs are from a variety of sources. All the sounds come from a Korg X5 synthesizer, sampled through a NuMedia2 sound card in a Mac Centris 650. All the performances are by me. The raw capture was done direct to disk using the recording functions of my Sound Utilities externals for HyperCard (available from all good Mac FTP sites), with final editing and mixing done in Audioshop.
